A great week of collaboration between VCWP CIC and Pelican of London.

Four members of VCWP descended on Dartmouth, armed with great expectations. After a 12+ drive, Simon and Kevan arrived safe and sound to see Steve and Ruth, after thier 8hr+ drive, were already working. The week was amazing meeting old and new friends.

Kev and Simon carried out essential welding, grinding, manufacturing, painting and helping the Engineers with the ships engine and various rigging shackles and pins. It was a great combination of hard work and some belly laughs.

Steve the workhorse was working on the safety mounting brackets for the lifeboats and the weather seals on the bridge house doors, he was typical of the military saying work hard and play hard, as the The Crab pub will verify.

Ruth was nonstop with all sorts, getting involved with admin and helping out in the galley and laundry room, also working hard on any tasks she was given.
The last night was a trip to the town to visit the local bars in pirate and witch attire. An amazing night was had by all - full of lots of laughs and Arrrrrhhhhhs.

Thanks to Captain John and all the Pelican staff for their understanding and knowledge. Hopefully this will be the start of a great alliance between the 2 parties.
